Vancouver Chinatown Walking Tour

Join John Atkin and Bob Sung for a Chinatown walkabout. The tour will cover Chinatown's origins, early history, unique architecture, and its evolved role in recent decades and future plans for a UNESCO World Heritage site designation. This free walking tour will provide you with the most unknown story about Chinatown.

Sign up in Chinatown BIA information booth at the festival. Limited to 25 people per tour. By donation.

Kung Fu Competitions

City-wide Kung Fu (Martial Art) masters from different schools of disciplines will be showcasing their skills and expertise alongside their students on a second stage. Mastering such arts require significant levels of discipline and dedication – their hard work will most definitely show through.

Climb the Wall

This year, Vancouver Chinatown Festival will highlight a portable climbing wall which has specific colour-coded routes with varying difficulties to keep all abilities entertained. Our walls have 3 auto-belays which handle all the rope-work safely and efficiently, which means we can have 3 climbers on the wall at once!

Mobile Aquarium

Supported by Vancouver Aquarium, there will be four staff as well as live marine invertebrates on site. Two educators will bring a wide variety of marine artifacts and our most hardy inter-tidal animals to create an engaging and interactive display at our Chinatown Festival.

Multi-Cultural Food trucks

There will be 24 multicultural street food trucks selling treats from all over Asia. These authentic street snacks are a taste into all the different cultures that the Vancouver Chinatown Festival has to offer.

Tamiya Mini 4WD racing in Vancouver

Mini 4WD races are not just about being the fastest, it's also about using your head and having good set-up techniques. Not only do you challenge other racers, but you challenge yourself too. By remembering the spirit of fair play, you can learn how to race honorably and with good manners.
